Best local restaurants near Playa de las Américas?

Head to the old town of Los Cristianos rather than the seafront. There are several family-run tascas around the Plaza del Pescador area that serve excellent papas arrugadas and fresh fish at very reasonable prices.

Restaurante La Langostera near the harbour in Los Cristianos is fantastic for grilled fish. Ask for the fish of the day — they typically have vieja or cherne and it comes with papas and two mojos.

For something a bit different, try any of the tapas bars on Avenida Amsterdam in Playa de las Américas. Go after 8pm when the locals eat — you will see the difference in clientele versus the tourist restaurants on the seafront.
