Best snorkeling spots in the North?
Staying in Puerto de la Cruz for a week. Looking for the best snorkeling spots in the north of the island. Happy to travel a bit if there are good spots nearby.

La Caleta de Interian near Buenavista is excellent for snorkeling — clear water and interesting rocky seabed. It is a bit of a drive from Puerto de la Cruz but worth it.
The rock pools at Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo on the north-east coast are great. The natural sea pool complex there is fantastic — lots of small fish and occasionally octopus.
El Pris, a small harbour north of Tacoronte, has lovely clear water and is much less visited than the tourist beaches. Park by the harbour and snorkel along the rocky coastline heading east. You will see damselfish, parrotfish and sometimes turtles.
