A stunning black volcanic sand beach in Puerto de la Cruz, surrounded by beautiful gardens designed by Canarian artist César Manrique. The dark sand contrasts with bright umbrellas and the lush tropical planting, creating a scene that feels designed rather than accidental — because it is. Sheltered by rocky arms, the water is calm enough for children, and the promenade level has showers, sunbeds and cafés with views over the Atlantic. The north sea is cooler than the south, but the reward is far fewer crowds and a more authentic port-town energy, with Loro Parque a short walk away.
