Fiesta del Cacharro y la Castaña — Puerto de la Cruz

📍Location: Plaza del Charco, Puerto de la Cruz

On the eve of San Andrés, the people of Puerto de la Cruz "run the cacharros": they tie tins, pots and old scrap metal to wire and drag them noisily through the streets of the old town down to the Plaza del Charco, a custom said to come from winemakers rolling their barrels to the sea to wash them before the new wine. The night ends with roasted chestnuts and local wine. In 2026 it falls on Sunday 29 November, from dusk; it is free.
