Los Silos International Storytelling Festival

For four days the small northern town of Los Silos hosts an international festival of oral storytelling, with sessions for adults and children. The 31st edition runs from Friday 4 to Monday 7 December 2026, opening on 4 December at 18:00 with the Equatorial Guinean writer Trifonia Melibea Obono as guest. Sessions for adults and for families take place in the Casa del Cuento, the courtyard of the former San Sebastián convent, the old market, Plaza de la Luz and the streets around the church. Most sessions are free until the venue is full; for some you collect a free invitation in advance, as listed in the programme. Nearly everything is in Spanish, so the family shows with music are the easiest choice if you do not speak it. Los Silos lies west of Icod de los Vinos, on the road to Buenavista del Norte.
