Great for families with teenagers β the pool areas have a real buzz to them and the rooms are huge.

The hike down through the gorge is stunning but genuinely tough on the knees β proper boots are non-negotiable.

The sunrise trip up Teide was unreal β definitely worth setting the alarm for 4am. Bring layers, it gets properly cold up there.

Spent the whole afternoon here and the surf was surprisingly good for beginners. So many beach bars right along the promenade if you need a break.

This place is an experience, not just a hotel β rock memorabilia everywhere, killer rooftop pool, and a party atmosphere at the beach club. Staff are young and fun. Brilliant for couples or friends, maybe not for peace and quiet.
Easily the best water park I've been to anywhere. The wave pool is huge and the lazy river is genuinely relaxing. Skip the VIP queue upgrade β the normal fast-pass system works fine. Go at opening to beat the crowds.
This is the real deal for wind and kitesurfers β consistent trade winds all afternoon. Rookie board rentals are fair priced on the seafront. Even if you don't ride, the mountain backdrop and people-watching are worth the trip south.
Busy but buzzing β exactly what you want if you like the action. Golden sand, plenty of chiringuitos, and the waves pick up enough for a fun bodyboard session. Parking fills up fast by 10am, so come early or walk from Playa de la Pinta.
Carnival of Santa Cruz is one of the biggest in the world and it shows β costumes, floats and street parties that run until dawn. Book accommodation early; the whole city is booked out.
