Siam Park vs Aqualand: Which Water Park Should You Choose?
Costa Adeje is home to two of Europe's most famous water parks, minutes apart: Siam Park, regularly voted the world's best, and Aqualand, the island's original splash park. Both are brilliant — but they are different experiences. Here is how to choose.
Siam Park: the spectacular one
Siam Park is a destination in its own right. Its Thai-themed grounds, lush landscaping and sheer scale are unmatched. The headline attraction, the Tower of Power, is a near-vertical drop that ends in a shark tunnel — genuinely terrifying and unforgettable. The Kong River is a lazy river with a difference, and the enormous wave pool delivers proper surf. Expect to spend a full day here.
Aqualand: the family-friendly one
Aqualand is smaller, cheaper and calmer. Its pools are warmer and its slides, while still exciting, are gentler — ideal for younger children or anyone who wants a relaxed day rather than an adrenaline one. The dolphin show is a big draw, and you can often find combination tickets with Loro Parque.
How to choose
- Thrill-seekers and teens: Siam Park wins every time.
- Families with small children (under 8): Aqualand's gentle slides and shallow pools are more forgiving.
- Budget: Aqualand is noticeably cheaper, and combined tickets with Loro Parque stretch your money.
- Crowds: both queue on hot August days — arrive at opening time, and book skip-the-line passes for Siam Park in summer.
Both parks have lockers, restaurants and shaded loungers. And after a day of slides, the beaches at Playa de las Américas are minutes away for a gentle evening swim. Whichever you pick, buy tickets online in advance — you save money and skip the box-office queue.
