Tenerife in April: Ultra Trail, Village Fiestas and Green Spring
Spring at its peak
April is Tenerife's greenest month — wildflowers, waterfalls and the best hikes still cool enough to enjoy in full. The Teide cable car often shows the last of the winter snow on the summit while the coast already reaches 23–24°C, continuing the spring mood.
The Bluetrail ultra marathon
The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB (8–10 April 2027) is the island's showcase ultra-trail race, climbing from the coast to the Teide summit as part of the UTMB World Series — both a spectacle to watch and proof of how walkable the island's mountains are.
Village fiestas
Mid-April, Icod de los Vinos celebrates San Marcos (17 April) — a lovely small-town fiesta in the shadow of the famous Drago tree, with music, processions and local wine. Late April, the Arona Jazz Festival (24–25 April) plays two nights of concerts on the seafront of Los Cristianos.
Spring seas
Whale-watching trips are superb in the calm spring seas, and the north-coast beaches are at their wildest and most scenic. The best time to visit page confirms April's balance of sun and green, the things to do list fills the days, where to stay has bases for both coasts, and the how many days plan still fits.
