The Grandes Fiestas de Julio

All through July, Puerto de la Cruz celebrates its Grandes Fiestas de Julio — processions, concerts, the maritime procession of the Virgen del Carmen and nightly fireworks, carrying on the June festival mood.

Jazz and film-music

July is the festival month: Canarias Jazz & Más (3–25 July) plays concerts from the Auditorio to beachfront stages, while FIMUCITÉ (3–19 July) celebrates film music in venues across Santa Cruz.

Virgen del Carmen, patron of the sea

Mid-July, the island's fishing towns honour the Virgen del Carmen with maritime processions that carry the Virgin out to sea by boat: Puerto de Santiago (10–19 July), Punta del Hidalgo (15 July) and Guargacho (16 July). Earlier in the month, the Tenerife Craft Market (5 July) brings the island's artisans together.

Wind and waves

Late July, the Wind & Waves Festival (31 July) fills El Médano with world-class windsurfers, kites and open-air concerts — a fitting climax for the island's most famous windsport beach.

The summer peak

The best time to visit page flags July as the hottest, liveliest month. Use the things to do list at its fullest, book somewhere to stay well ahead, and the how many days plan still fits around the fiestas.
