Corpus Christi flower carpets

The Corpus Christi festival (a movable Thursday in late May or June) turns the streets of La Laguna into giant carpets of petals and volcanic sand — art that is walked on and swept away by evening, continuing the May festival run.

The Romería de La Orotava

The Romería de La Orotava (11 June) is Tenerife's biggest pilgrimage — ox-carts, folk dress, thousands of walkers and the island's most exuberant day, set in the beautiful old town.

Night of San Juan

23 June is the Night of San Juan, the most magical night of the year — bonfires on the beaches, midnight swims and the traditional jump over the flames. The nightlife guide covers the resorts' side of the party.

Summer season opens

Veranos del Taoro starts mid-June — a summer festival of concerts and shows in Puerto de la Cruz. The month closes with the Fiestas de San Pedro (29 June – 5 July) in the north-coast town of El Sauzal. The best time to visit guide tracks the climb into high summer, the things to do list is at its most crowded, where to stay prices start rising, and the how many days plan still holds — and the party carries straight on into our July guide.
