Our blog collects practical, first-hand guides to getting the most out of Tenerife — from packing lists and car-hire advice to deep dives on specific towns, hikes and neighbourhoods that don't fit neatly into a listings page. Posts are organised by category (tips, itineraries, food, nature, culture) and tagged so you can filter down to exactly the kind of trip you're planning, whether that's a week-long family holiday in the south or a hiking-focused trip through Anaga and the Teide National Park. Unlike our beach, hotel and restaurant listings, blog posts are written to answer the how and why questions — how to plan a day trip, why the north and south of the island feel like different countries, what to actually pack for October versus February. New posts are added regularly as we cover more of the island in depth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is new content published?

We add new guides regularly throughout the year, with an emphasis on covering seasonal topics (like what to pack or which festivals are coming up) shortly before they become relevant.

Can I suggest a topic for a future blog post?

Yes — reach out through our contact page with your suggestion. Requests for specific towns, hikes or practical topics (car hire, SIM cards, driving rules) are especially welcome.

Are the blog posts written by locals or visitors?

Our editorial content draws on both local knowledge of the island and a visitor's perspective on what first-time travellers actually need to know, which is why we try to cover practical details that purely local writing sometimes skips over.

Do the guides get updated when things change (prices, opening hours)?

We review and update older posts periodically, but prices, opening hours and booking requirements can change faster than any guide — always double-check specific details directly with the venue or official source before you travel.

Can I filter blog posts by category or tag?

Yes — use the category filters at the top of the blog listing page, or click any tag on a post to see other posts covering the same topic.

What is the best time to visit Tenerife?

For guaranteed warmth and family-friendly weather, come between June and September (26–30°C). March–May is the sweet spot for hiking and value, with thinner crowds, while winter (December–February) still brings 21–23°C daytime highs, swimmable seas around 19–20°C and the island's biggest events — including Carnival in February. Our seasonal guide breaks each period down in detail.

How many days should I spend in Tenerife?

A first visit focused on the south works well in 5–7 days, covering beaches, Siam Park, whale watching and a Teide day trip. With 10 or more days you can comfortably add the north, Anaga and even a day trip to another island such as La Gomera. Our itinerary guide suggests a realistic day-by-day plan.

Should I stay in the north or south of Tenerife?

The south (Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas) offers the most reliable sunshine, big resorts and golden-sand beaches — best for a classic beach holiday. The north (Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna, La Orotava) is greener, cooler and more historic, ideal if you want culture and nature close at hand. Many visitors base themselves in the south and drive north for day trips.

What should I pack for a holiday in Tenerife?

Essentials are light summer clothing, a thin jumper or fleece for evenings and the highlands, sun protection (the Canarian sun is strong year-round), swimwear and comfortable shoes for rocky paths. If you plan to visit Teide — even in summer — bring warm layers, as temperatures near the summit can drop below freezing at night.
